Job Description: Heavy Machine Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Machine Mechanic to join a team in the Netherlands. As a Heavy Machine Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery used in construction, mining, agriculture, and other industries. You will work closely with a team of technicians and operators to ensure the optimal performance and safety of the machinery.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular inspections of heavy machinery to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
2. Perform preventive maintenance tasks to keep machines in good working condition and minimize downtime.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems with heavy machinery, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
4. Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision instruments.
5. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used, hours spent, and services performed.
6. Collaborate with equipment operators and other technicians to ensure effective communication and coordination.
7. Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
8. Stay updated with the latest technology and advancements in heavy machinery to enhance skills and knowledge.
9. Provide training and guidance to junior mechanics and operators on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and inventory of tools and spare parts.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Heavy Machine Mechanic or similar role, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
2. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy machinery.
3. In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical circuits.
4. Familiarity with a variety of heavy equipment brands and models.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
7. Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform repair tasks that may involve heavy lifting, bending, and working in tight spaces.
8. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear instructions.
9. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
10. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
