Job Description

As Financial Controller you will perform the timely reporting of the financial and operational information (actual, forecast, budget, dashboards, KPI's, analysis)  according to the procedures within  (SOX, accounting procedures, guidelines etc.). You will collaborate with the accounting team in the Netherlands to meet the Corporate requirements. As sparring partner of the Finance Manager, you will lead special projects for further optimization of accounting & reporting processes. Your tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Perform the timely and accurate financial reporting 
  • Ensure integrity of the General Ledger and adherence to  accounting policies
  • Accurately maintain the Fixed Asset register
  • Prepare monthly analysis and ad-hoc when needed
  • Prepare the annual budget
  • Manage the cash to optimum levels
  • Ensure correctness & timeliness of payments
  • Prepare cash forecast including currency exposure.
  • Frequently update the intercompany pricing
  • Frequently update the cost prices in the ERP system
  • Perform external reporting (VAT, ICP, Intrastat and other statutory & statistical reporting)
  • Perform timely SOX testing within the Netherlands and meet with the US Stock Exchange regulations
  • Maintain the insurances portfolio
  • Contacts with the auditors to support year end audits (statutory)
  • Contacts with the fiscal advisors to support the filing of Tax returns
  • Contacts with banks
  • Other Finance and non-finance tasks for the benefit of the company, projects execution

The Successful Applicant

 

The ideal candidate recognizes his/herself in the following description:

  • A completed financial study at Bachelor level, like Business Economics, Business Administration, Controlling or Accountancy
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience on the finance controlling roles
  • Experience in an industrial production company preferably with an international orientation
  • Knowledge of accounting & fiscal rules and practices (SOX, US GAAP)
  • Actively make proposals for improvement, able to set the right priorities and respond to unexpected situations
  • Independent and team player, responsible, self-reliant, result driven and reliable
  • Good analytical skills
  • Affinity with data and IT in combination with finance
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Knowledge of EPICOR, Hyperion and Power BI is a plus
  • Fluent in English. Willing to learn Dutch real fast

 

Project Cost Engineer

We are looking for a project Cost Engineer

Tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • You assess the quotes of contractors and suppliers in the following project phases: ‘final permits & detailed design’, ‘construction and commissioning’ and ‘closing’ (gate 2 up until gate 5).

  • You define and maintain estimates and budget plans for our projects, based on project specifications and time schedules;

  • You set up price lists for our tenders and provide support during the tender phase (e.g. analysing bids of tenderers, answering questions of tenderers);

  • You assess the financial and substantive feasibility of contract specifications based on cost calculations and align with the project team and engineers;

  • You assess the cost calculations of claims, variation orders and RFC’s we receive from contractors and suppliers; You provide input in your discipline for risk sessions; you help to quantify project risks and you translate the risk analysis of the project team to financial project risks;

  • You work closely together with your fellow cost engineer in the Project department (NLO-PMO);

  • You support AMO to build, maintain and improve the tools we use (e.g. frameworks, models, systems, databases) to professionalize and standardize the way we budget and assess cost calculations;

  • You propose and execute improvement plans to the management with regard to relevant processes, procedures and cost reductions;

  • You contribute to the further promotion and professionalization of cost engineering;

  • You execute operational tasks such as; budgeting, sparring with the project team, act as a source of cost and budget information, provide input for various reports, support drafting of documents etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor degree, e.g. in Construction, Engineering, Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering;

  • You have at least 6 years of working experience in activities similar to those mentioned in the tasks and responsibilities.

  • You are experienced in offshore or chemical/oil & gas industry

  • The following personal competences apply for this position: analytic, accurate, result driven, communicative, conscious and analytical.

  • You are an experienced user of Excel.

  • You are able to draft a budget which can be used as a solid basis for an ‘in control’ project

  • You are able to support the organization in reaching the next level in professional budgeting methodologies.

As Automation Projects Finance Manager, you drive financial performance of multiple projects/products within the Automation Program by providing leadership, guidance and support on financial information, project performance management, planning & forecasting, governance and support on implementation strategies.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you manage the project/product lifecycle from business case preparation to execution of the project/product and realizing value of the business case. Being responsible for business intelligence and analytics, you support strategic decision making and provide pro-active advice based on key value drivers allowing you to translate business intelligence to stakeholders. You improve short- and long-term performance through relevant, accurate and timely reporting and analysis.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Capital allocation and investment analysis
• Manage automation projects investment decision process
• Prepare financial modeling on Investment Proposals and business evaluations
• Review, help develop and sign off on business case before they go to management for formal approval process
• Follow up on approved business cases in terms of savings and spend estimated. Maintain the financial model and support to optimize long-term financial performance

Financial planning and analysis
• Drive & improve the business performance management cycle including project/product performance reviews
• In close coordination with the terminal CFOs and project teams on the ground, coordinate the forecasting processes, e.g. rolling forecast, annual budgets and long-term business planning.
• Drive performance and continuous improvement by ensuring that project budgets and approved governance structure for program budgets and expenditures for different projects are adhered to in accordance with the long-term business plan.
• Drive capex forecast (Value of Work Done and cash flow of investment) accuracy improvements
• Work close with the functions to understand the business and the business need in form of reporting and key value drivers
• Follow up with the projects/products deviations versus planning and ensure there is an understanding of why and that actions are taken
• Develop financial policies, standard procedures and guidelines within the area of responsibility, including financial management and reporting.
Governance and compliance
• Ensure project governance principles (including but not limited to contingency management) is followed, global- and project authority matrixes are adhered
• Participate in installing an active risk management process for the projects by working with the project/product teams on the ground.
